Conversations about the cognitive mind

Jerry Fodor, Zenon Pylyshyn and Noam Chomsky

Through interviews with three prominent figures in the field of cognitive science, this book offers a broad and critical overview of the foundations of psychology, its central role in the multidisciplinary endeavour that is cognitive science and its most significant advances, especially in the fields of cognition and language. There is also a fourth interview with the author himself, which took place on the Basque community radio station Irola Irratia as part of its series ‘Interviews with Professor Arkadio’. Beyond the general interest that the contents may arouse, the book seeks to foster the reader’s participation in these conversations and to encourage them the study of something that is at once so close to us and which we experience in our own lives, but which at the same time is very difficult to treat in a scientific, rigorous and systematic manner.
